Macs Grantham Ginger Bread

Peter Found this recipe when trying to make a cheap cake for the company that he worked for in Cyprus.


INGREDIENTS
  
1 1/2Lbs Flour
1 1/2 Teaspoon salt
4 Teaspoons Ground ginger
2 Teaspoons Allspice
2 Teaspoons of Bicarbonate of soda
1Lb Golden Syrup
1/4Lb of lard
1/4 Lb Brown Sugar
2 Eggs
1/4 Pt of warm water

TIN 8in Square

METHOD
 
1. Sieve the flour, salt, ginger,bicarb and spices together.

2. Heat the fat, sugar and syrup in a pan until the fat has melted and the mix is warm.

3. Add the mix to the flour, with the liquid and the eggs. Stir well until mixed do not beat. Pour into a lined, greased tin.

4. Place in the middle of the oven cook 350F. Bake between 1 and 3 hours depending on size.
